"We went for an excursion a few weeks ago. We went to Normafa with the Children’s Railway and from there we walked through the woods to the János Hill belvedere. Many families were there with small children and bicyclists too. The full town can be viewed from the belvedere, it is a very nice sight."
Lilla from Budapest
"One of my best experience which I repeated several times already was a several hours cave tour under the Hills of Buda. We had to crawl – climb in the routes in overalls, had to climb up on the cliff and climb down to the deep. I recommend it to everyone!"
Judit from Budapest

"The ones who wish to spend an unforgettable family program should visit the Palace of Miracles in the Millenáris Park. You may see astounding and unexplainable effects and you may try out your skills and braveness. Well, looking at the structure there was breath taking"
Krisztina from Budapest
"Active relaxation? For me it is running, a very pleasant experience especially when the good weather begins and the beautiful inspiring sight of the land enchants me while running. I usually do this on the Margaret Island or on the Pest side between the Petőfi and Lágymányosi Bridges. The mass of people simply motivates me to fulfil the objected kilometres."
Viktória from Budapest
"I go to the Funfair once a year and I get on everything. My favourite is the old switchback railway and the barrel after the charmed palace. No matter how often I go I never lose interest."
"I was given a fantastic gift for my birthday: we went up by scooter to the Zikkurat located between the Palace of Art and the Hungarian National Museum and we rolled down. Excitement, sight and joy. Do we need better fun?"
Magdi from Budapest
“I have to say that we enjoyed Budapest more than any other city we have visited. It is a beautiful city with many magnificent sights to be seen. It is rich in culture and history. And most importantly of all, we found the people of Budapest to be the most respectful, friendly, welcoming and helpful than any people we have ever met. Budapest has become my favourite city in Europe and I intend to visit it again and spend many more happy days in the city and amongst the people.”
"We often visit the lawn near the Hármashatár hill with my friends, from where nearly the full city can be seen, in the summers it is the beloved jumping place of the gliding fliers."
Dávid from Budapest
"For me the Safari Park in Budakeszi is special. It is a great program for families and it is not far at all. My favourite experience when we played war of numbers in the Safari Park when I was a child. I often go back there ever since and it always gives me a great relaxation!"
"A nice childhood experience when I first used cog-wheel railway - children’s railway - chair lift - walking tour combination in the hills of Buda. I was amazed. Not many of my childhood experiences remained as strong as this one!"
Dávid from Budapest
"Shopping in the Great Market Hall of Fővám square: A lots of energy is required for such shopping, so we usually start with eating scone on the first floor, the one with cheese and sour cream is my favourite. After that shopping may begin, vegetables, fruits, meats and cheese, home flavours from all over the country."
Ágnes from Budapest
"A tour in the Pálvölgy and Szemlőhegy Caves – it was a unique experience in the summer heat to go over in the cool cave, where the air is crystal clear and the stalactites delight the eyes. A thin jacket is not harmful."
Emma from Budapest
"Simply just a walk in the town, doesn’t matter where to, or when, I love to watch, sight the life of the town..."
Zsolt from Budapest
"I bicycled with my boyfriend a long distance from Zugló to the Statue of Liberty. I thought I will die, still I did not get off the bike, did not stop for a moment, so I felt like a hero! We plan it for this summer too."
"‘I like living dangerously, so my daughters and I visited in turn all the water slides in Hungary. You can imagine how thrilled I was when the Aquaworld complex opened in Budapest in December 2008. It’s sooo cooooool! Not cheap, but worth it."
András from Budapest
“Budapest has a reviving cafe culture, with several in original, opulent period decor, notably the palatial New York Cafe. The mid-range Cafe Central, with a gypsy band on its balcony, was our favourite.”
Keith Ward, Birmingham Post, UK
“Never in the field of human bathing was so much offered to so many for so little. It’s amazing – and there is more.”
